This remains far and away the finest prime-time sitcom: crunchy and absurd, but very caring. Modern Family has the handpicked cast of any new fall show and, thanks to the heavens; this outstanding funniness gives these gifted performers the kind of piercing material they earn. Be sure to watch this!
