TV addiction is not a crime, that’s for sure. But, like the addictions that could bring you to prison, it has bad effects too. Nah! Forget about them. It will only have bad effects if you don’t show them up. Don’t hide it! Shout it! I am a TV addict!
Now, how to measure your TV-watching zeal? Perhaps, you will ask me first, “Why should I?” No, you are not obliged, but it is just so good to know facts about yourself. You can use it to make improve yourself and have a better smile every day.
First, you need to measure the time you have waited for your show to start in every schedule. Though it sounds insignificant that the actual time of watching, it is still important because it only means how eager you are to watch that show. That’s addiction!
Second, measure how many times you mentioned the main character of the show or the title of the show to your friends, Facebook, even to your personal blog. If you are more than a newscaster reporting about your favorite team and those words are just keep on coming out of your mouth, My! My! My! You must believe you’re an addict.
Third, and the most important, ask someone to watch you sleep once in a while. You can ask a time from your brother, wife, sister or your mom, whoever you want until you trust that person that they would not make fun with you. Let them record the words that came out from your mouth while sleeping. If you mentioned Dexter two times in a 5-6 hours of sleep, that’s fair enough.
Now that you know already how addict you are, you can start budgeting your time for a more beneficial activities. And, budget your time for your cravings too!
Just don’t walk on the streets!
